Bigband Jakabcic has first been introduced to the wide public in 2004 in Přerov Jazz festival. The success was an impulse to continue creating more music and playing more concerts around Europe. An album called “Matúš Jakabčic CZ-SK Big Band featuring Harry Sokal was released in October 2007 by OFR (Austrian Radio). In 2008, the Big Band performed at the Prague Castle. The performance was organized by the president of the Czech Republic – Václav Klaus. A live recording from the Prague Castle was released on CD within a project “Jazz Na Hradě“. Another recording was released from a recording of a New Year’s concert in January 2009 in the Slovak Philharmonic Concert hall.

The repertoire includes M. Jakabcic’s tunes, together with some tunes composed by the members of the Big Band. The Bigband Jakabcic also cooperates with many individual singers and soloists.
